I was always an enthusiastic reader, sometimes reading up to
three books a day as a child. Stories were like air to me and while other kids played ball or
went to parties. I lived out adventures through the books I checked out from the library.(我一
As I grew older and became a mother
I had several children and books were our main source ( 来 源 ) of
entertainment. It was a big deal for us to load up and go to the local library, where my kids
could pick out books to read or books they wanted me to read to them(我有几个孩子,书是
I think all writers should support libraries in a significant
way when they can. Encourage readers to use the library. Share library announcements on
your social media. Frequent them and talk about them when you can.(我认为所有的作家都
【1】D
【2】D
【3】A
【4】C
According to a recent study in the Journal of Consumer
Research, both the size and consumption habits of our eating companions can influence our
And contrary to existing research that says you should avoid
eating with heavier people who order large portions(份)”可知,现有的研究认为:你应
thebeanpoleswith big appetites。由 contrary to 可推断出,画线词和 heavier people(超重
To test the effect of social influence on eating habits, the
故选 A。
【4】
If an overweight person is having a large portion, I’ll hold
back a bit because I see the results of his eating habits. But if a thin person eats a lot, I’ll
follow suit. If he can eat much and keep slim, why can’t I?”
